Pediatric RN Nurse Navigator
Peggy Malone is the RN nurse navigator in the Pediatric Department at Ochsner for Children Medical Center. Peggy earned her Diploma in Nursing from Touro School of Nursing. In 1992, Peggy decided to go back to school to advance her degree and achieved her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from St John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.
Peggy began her career at Ochsner in 2009 in the Adult Diabetes Management Program and obtained her certification in Diabetes Education in 2012. She has a special interest in the care of people with diabetes and strives to share her knowledge and personal experience to guide them in living a long and healthy life.
Last year she accepted the challenge to develop a Diabetes Management Program for the Pediatric population. Through the support of the Adult Diabetes Management Program Coordinator and key people in the pediatric department, the American Diabetes Association granted certification to the first Pediatric Diabetes Management Program at Ochsner.
