Jacqueline Odom

Director of Respiratory Therapy

Jacqueline Odom is the director of respiratory therapy at Ochsner Health, where she oversees a team of approximately 140 therapists across three facilities, including Ochsner Medical Center – New Orleans, Ochsner Center for Primary Care & Wellness and Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. She also serves as the chairman of the System Respiratory Integration Council, a group dedicated to ensuring quality and process alignment across all Ochsner Health facilities.

Before Ochsner Health, Jackie served as the program director of the respiratory technology program at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for nearly five years, overseeing changes to curriculum, purchasing equipment and using technology to improve student outcomes. 

She also brings more than 20 years’ experience as a respiratory therapist among South Mississippi hospitals.

Most recently, Jackie has overseen the response to COVID-19 at Ochsner’s flagship facility, which experienced the highest number of COVID-19 patients in the system. 

Jackie holds a dual RRT license in Mississippi and Louisiana, earned an Executive Master’s in Public Health (Health Administration emphasis) and Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Southern Mississippi. She also holds an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapy (Registry Level) certificate and an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy. She lives in South Mississippi with her daughter Estella and son Kendall.
