Dr. Michael Sewell is Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Hospital Medicine Section at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. He received his medical degree from LSUHSC in Shreveport and also completed his IM residency and was Chief Resident in Internal Medicine there. He is board certified by ABIM and has 22 years of experience in private practice, both as a traditional internist and as a hospitalist. He has served on multiple hospital committees and in many leadership roles, including being Chief of the Medical Staff and Medical Director for Home Health and Hospice at a large private health system. He is a member of ACP and SHM and pursuing fellowship in both of these, as well as currently working on an MHA degree.
