Pinterest Logo

Prepping for your delivery is one of the most exciting parts of the third trimester! Because you never know when your baby will arrive, it’s a great idea to get started early by packing a bag for your hospital stay around week 35.

Keep it in the car you’ll be traveling to the hospital in, or in the hallway ready to grab on your way out.

Make sure you pack these essentials:

Toiletries:

  • Toothbrush & toothpaste
  • Shampoo
  • Nursing pads
  • Hairbrush
  • Lip balm
  • Hair brush
  • Hair ties

For Baby:

  • Baby blanket
  • Onesies
  • Going home outfit
  • Mittens
  • Hat

For Mom:

  • Robe
  • Slip-on shoes
  • Labor Gown & Nightwear
  • Going home outfit

Other essentials:

  • Phone
  • Phone charger
  • Birth plan & insurance cards
  • Nursing pillow
  • Blanket & pillow for support person

Don’t forget to plan to have a support person to stay with you throughout your visit. Also, you must have a car seat installed in the vehicle you plan to depart the hospital in prior to discharge. For more information on specific items to pack for your stay, make sure to consult with your care team.
