A Day in the Life of an Oncology Operations RN
RN Lorrie Erario works in oncology operations at the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center on Jefferson Highway. She has worked in oncology for 29 years in various roles, starting as staff nurse, then moving to supervisor, and now as a manager.
"I think what's unique about our leadership team is that it's very diverse and we are able to work well together as a team,'' strategizing on how best to improve the experiences of the Cancer Center's patients, she said in this video.
She said, 'If there is one thing that you can do differently to make their day better, then that's a success for me.'
The newly expanded Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center continues to bring innovations to the fight against cancer, close to home. The addition doubles the size of the Cancer Center, increasing capacity to offer more high-quality cancer services and advanced clinical research making it one of the leading comprehensive destinations for cancer care across a multi-state region.
This new building adds 115,000 square feet over six floors, but the expansion offers more than just extra space. It reinforces Ochsner’s commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care using the latest technology, innovative treatments and a compassionate, holistic approach.
