Dr. Shontell Thomas received her undergraduate degree in 2001 from the University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill. After earning her Master’s in Public Health in 2006 and medical degree in 2007 from the University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill, Dr. Thomas entered residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her training in 2011. Dr. Thomas is currently board eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Thomas is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is fluent in Spanish and studied abroad in Spain during her college years. She has participated in medical trips to Nicaragua, Honduras, and Jamaica. Her professional interests include international health and working with underserved populations. Dr. Thomas practices at Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner.
