Matthew Giefer, MD
Dr. Giefer is a pediatric gastroenterologist and is an international expert in diagnosing and treating both common and rare gastrointestinal diseases. He has written more than 40 publications and has spoken nationally and internationally with areas of focus including pancreatitis and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He co-established the Foundation for Childhood Pancreatitis and serves on many other local and national committees.
Dr. Giefer's research includes investigating the causes and treatments of pediatric pancreatitis as well how to safely apply advanced endoscopic procedures in children. Dr. Giefer is board-certified in general pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He is a member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
