Megan Binder, PhD

Dr. Megan Binder is a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctoral degree from Louisiana State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, in positions including the Neurobehavioral Outpatient Clinic and the Pediatric Feeding Disorders Program. She then completed her post-doctoral clinical fellowship at The Emerge Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Binder has experience working with children with developmental disabilities, behavioral and mood difficulties, learning/academic problems, intellectual disabilities, social skills problems, and feeding difficulties. She currently offers brief solution-focused counseling for children and teens with anxiety, depression, or other mood difficulties and virtual parent consultations to address behavior management. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Binder has published two book chapters in books addressing intellectual disability and behavioral problems. She is an author or co-author of 22 journal articles published in six different journals on topics ranging from autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, adaptive behavior, pica, and challenging behaviors. She has served as a guest reviewer on 10 different journals. Dr. Binder is also a member of the American Psychological Association and is currently licensed in Louisiana and Mississippi.
