Dr. Carter's clinical interests are evaluating and treating pediatric patients with airway narrowing, noisy and/or difficulty breathing and he has expertise in endoscopic airway surgery and open airway reconstruction. Dr. Carter also treats children with difficulty breathing in sleep and offers sleep endoscopy for those children with complex sleep issues. He has a special interest in the management of children with masses, cysts, vascular/lymphatic malformations, and tumors of the head, neck, and skull base. Dr. Carter offers minimally invasive ear surgery (Endoscopic Ear Surgery) for chronic ear disease and tympanic membrane perforations. Dr. Carter is trained in cochlear implant placement and is interested in sensorineural hearing loss in the pediatric population.
Dr. Carter earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Arizona. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Tulane University School of Medicine and a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Northwestern University- Anne & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
