Denise Capps, MD received her master’s degree in biochemistry from University of New Orleans. She completed her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans followed by an internship at Providence Health System in Portland, Oregon and ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas. Dr. Capps completed her fellowship training in glaucoma with Ochsner in New Orleans.
Dr. Capps is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and joined our staff in 2021. Her expertise is in clinical and surgical management of glaucoma, cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, recreational outdoor activities, live music, and the culinary arts. Her practice locations will be Destrehan and Main Campus.
