Dr. Capps received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of New Orleans. She then completed a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of New Orleans. She earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Following this, she completed her internship at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon and went on to complete a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Following this, she then completed a fellowship in Glaucoma at Ochsner in New Orleans. Dr. Capps is board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Capps's expertise is in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Glaucoma treatment. Her practice and clinical interests include cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens technology, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma surgical lasers (including SLT, LPI, and cyclophotocoagulation) and traditional glaucoma surgical procedures. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a provisional member of the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Capps practices at Ochsner Medical Center and Ochsner Health Center - Destrehan. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
