Dean A. Hickman, MD

Chairman, Department of Psychiatry

Dr. Hickman graduated cum laude with honors in biology and earned his medical degree from Tulane. He completed his psychiatry residency at Ochsner where he served as Chief Resident. He also received the Upjohn Achievement Award for 'Outstanding Psychiatry Resident.' Dr. Hickman is board certified in general psychiatry with added qualifications in addiction psychiatry. He specializes in substance abuse and alcoholism treatment. Dr. Hickman has been on the Ochsner staff since 1994.
