Dr. Keshavamurthy, MBBS, MD, FACR, joined the department of rheumatology at Ochsner in 2017. She completed her medical schooling in India, did her residency in Queens, Mt. Sinai, New York, where she was awarded the best intern and resident awards. She then did her fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock. She served for the undeserved population for three years in Yuma, Arizona, where one of the busiest Marine Corps Air Station is located. She was on the teaching faculty there for residents pursuing their family practice residency. Her clinical interests include systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, polymyositis and vasculitis. Dr. Keshavamurthy is also a senior lecturer and assistant clinical professor at the Ochsner Clinical School at The University of Queensland, Australia and the medical clerkship director for rheumatology at The University of Queensland, Australia. She is also the associate program director for the department of rheumatology at Ochsner Health.
