Brian Etier, MD, specializes in orthopedic sports medicine. Dr. Brian Etier, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, completed his undergraduate and medical school training at Louisiana State University. Following medical school, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. He then pursued specialty training in orthopedic sports medicine by completing a fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was an assistant team physician for the University of Virginia and James Madison University. He further pursued shoulder specific training during an externship with Dr. Pascal Boileau at Hopital de lArchet in Nice, France. He is double board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He is currently employed at the Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Center where he serves as medical director of Lafayette General Sports Medicine program. He is a member of multiple state and national orthopedic societies including the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine. He has authored or co-authored eight published peer-reviewed articles. He has presented at over 20 orthopedic meetings at the state, regional and national level. He lives in Lafayette, Louisiana, with his wife and four children.
