Dr. Benjamin B. Peeler received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. Also at Vanderbilt, he completed a seven year general surgery residency and was given the Harwell Wilson Award, given to the outstanding surgery resident in his class. He then completed three fellowships – in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery, as well as vascular surgery at the University of Virginia and in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, at Emory University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Peeler has excelled at congenital cardiac care delivery and program building, holding various leadership positions, providing his services through volunteer work, teaching while holding a faculty position, and conducting several research activities.
