Ashley Ingolia, MD
Dr. Ashley Gene Ingolia joined Ochsner Health Center in Hammond in October 2019. As a board-certified internal medicine physician, she specializes in comprehensive health care for ages 16 and up, including preventative health care and management of chronic health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. She has also received extensive training in hospital medicine, which she will employ as a member of the Ochsner hospitalist staff.
Dr. Ingolia is a Ponchatoula native and graduated with honors from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in organismal and Integrative biology before earning her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She received her training in the internal medicine residency program at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Ingolia was honored to receive the 2016 Golden Heart nomination, which recognizes providers who go above and beyond in caring for patients in the hospital. She also volunteered as a community health educator speaking on topics such as healthy eating, exercise, and mental health. She served as the Johns Hopkins chapter leader for Primary Care Progress, which is a national organization that trains students and residents to become leaders in the field of Primary Care. She participated in research projects with the infectious diseases department, helping to educate providers on antibiotic stewardship and research regarding the treatment of lupus with the rheumatology department, which was published this year.
Dr. Ingolia is very passionate about primary care medicine and improving the health care of her community in Tangipahoa Parish. She is an advocate for her patients and believes each patient is unique and not defined by their medical conditions. She was honored to represent the Louisiana chapter of the American College of Physicians this year in Washington, D.C. to advocate for improvements in health care.
Dr. Ingolia is an active member of the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, reading, going to the movies, and being active.
