Dr. Angelia R. Spurgin is a licensed psychologist who received her doctoral training at Texas Womans University in Denton, Texas. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in school psychology with the Louisiana School Psychology Internship Consortium at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Spurgin has training as a school psychologist and experience working in the school system. She believes that relationships are the primary driving force behind change and that the relationships developed with children and their families are the foundation for growth and success. Dr. Spurgin specializes in consultation with caregivers and the development and implementation of treatment plans aimed at supporting children across home, school, and community settings based on diagnoses. Dr. Spurgin has experience working with children impacted by neurological disorders, mood difficulties, behavior challenges, learning problems, and social skill challenges. She is licensed in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Her clinical interests include supporting parents in navigating school supports for children; tailoring home and school interventions for children with behavior challenges; using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help children and caregivers develop and implement coping skills for stressful life experiences.
